There have been different theories as to when the word “jazz” was used for the first time.

- The word appeared first time in print in 1913 when baseball players and sportswriters in
- California used the term as a synonym for “enthusiasm

- Musician Clarence Williams was said to have used “jazz” for the first time in a song

3. Jazz has around 40 sub-genres!
You heard it right! This versatile music style has three broad categories of sub-genres -- Early Jazz, Modern Jazz, and Jazz Related. Each of these eras got a list of sub-genres and all of them together the number is around 40, including Bop, Swing, Vocal Jazz, Cool Jazz, World Fusion, Latin Jazz, and Funk.
