Book Review- The Art of Letting Go by Roshni Bhattacharya, Blogger, and Book-reviewer The Art of Letting Go, written by Sanhita Baruah and published by the Notion Press, has been received positively by people all over the world. The writer’s quotes are all too relatable and any lover of the word would appreciate the efforts. This book is 92 pages of pure bliss with a cover that sets it apart. Some books keep calling you back and some poems make you drown again, just like they did the first time. Sanhita’s work is one such example, where you’ll come back to look for yourself, where you got lost the last time. The Art of Letting go is a collection of poetry on love, moving on and finally making peace with your life. It truly is a book for the seekers, those who are seeking an abode amongst words. Sanhita’s receptivity to emotions is too relatable and unique at the same time. The cover is simply gorgeous with a very comfortable typeface. I absolutely love the quality of pages and the cover itself. The art of letting go, bananivista The non-uniformity in alignments and line spacing in the poems, in my opinion, symbolized the different feelings and pauses Sanhita must have gone through while penning them down. It added a special beautifying factor to the book. Letting go is an art and Sanhita Baruah is the Picasso of this art. In very simple words and in an arranged manner, she made my pain look very less painful. One has to wonder if someone is capable of wording her feelings with such poise, how elegant they must be in person. About the author: Originally from Assam, her pen started flowing with words when she was 10 years old and she never stopped. Her blog, “Pens and Pages” embodies her soul which she started in 2011. An MBA graduate from MDI, Gurgaon, she has been able to successfully balance the life of a commercial manager and that of a poet. Her stories and poems have been published and acknowledged in various magazines. I’ll be talking about a few of the poems that caught me off-guard and let me tell you I am heavily in love with her words. When you are drowning in sorrow, your body imbibes the sorrow in such a way that even single most of your atom gets addicted to the sufferings. She tells about this beautifully through her poem ‘Instead’ In the poem ‘A night’s conversation’, everybody’s nightmare has been brought to life where you find the person who accepts your pasts and yet you don’t feel like a part of his present or his future. She talks about how you should not lose hope even when the very world seems to have turned their back on you in the poem ‘Falling’. In her poem ‘Sunrise’, she bravely treads on the topic of mental health when she urges herself to take those “unorthodox” pills in order to make yourself enjoy the sunrise once more. The poem ‘Grow’ is my absolute favourite because she, in a very few words was capable of saying that, sometimes people don’t want to see you grow because at this particular moment you might not be aware of your potential, but they sure are. So never let others dictate your growth curve and YOU DO YOU, BOO! This collection of poems would make for a perfect gift, be it yourself or your loved ones. One can never go wrong with poetry, and Sanhita is a shining beacon amongst her contemporaries. I look forward to more of her works and so should you.
