Shivani is a TEDx speaker and one of India’s leading live hosts. A quick-witted anchor, Shivani exudes class. Since her first event in 2005, she has hosted a wide range of high profile events and live shows across the globe. Her work covers a wide spectrum of events including corporate and government conferences and events, media launches, great Indian weddings, corporate employees celebratory events and fashion shows. She brings her unique brand of grace, poise, intellect and prolific experience to each event.
BV: What inspired to become a Live host?
Shivaani: A friend of mine was looking for a host for his corporate event in Hyderabad and he asked me if I would host. I didn’t know anything about anchoring but I said yes. Thereafter world of mouth went around and I kept getting calls to host shows.
BV: What are the challenges you faced, and how did you overcome them?
Shivaani: An anchor is expected to be perfect! She needs to have the knowledge of current affairs, sports, history, shloka, poetry, Shayari, sense of humour, style, elegance, looks, talent, professionalism.. and that is the only challenge. Continuously upgrading your knowledge apart from traveling, Working, spending time with your family. And the amount of news that’s around, it’s difficult to keep up.
BV: Do you ever face gender inequality in your profession?
Shivaani: None at all. Indian Events Industry respects talent irrespective of their gender or color or religion or caste. Our industry respects and cares for women working in their events. If you’re passionate about your work & hardworking, you’re equal to anyone else standing opposite you.

BV: If you are not hosting an event, then what are the other activities you deal with?
Shivaani: I am passionate about fitness, so when not hosting, I make sure that I go to the gym for a good workout. Back at home I practice writing for an upcoming or imaginary event.
I spend quiet time watching some TedX talks, reading books, watching cricket. I also indulge in writing poetry in Hindi in my notebook.
BV: Would you like to share your future plans?
Shivaani: My future plans are at multiple levels. I don’t discuss them till they happen. But now that I have a base in Mumbai also, a lot of exciting things will happen.
