Show some love to the ones who are deprived of love this Valentine’s Day “Love will find a way through paths where wolves fear to prey”, said poet Lord Byron. On Valentine’s Day, we decided to dabble in love, to get down on our knees proposing to our special one, taking out to a candlelight dinner and just celebrating in the saccharine sweetness of it all. But Love comes in all shapes, size, and forms. Who says that someone special has to be human? So, this V-day we choose to bring you one story that veers from the regular. We show you a cantaloupe love story of a famous Jodi from Bengali television industry who are in love with a fuzzy four-legged canine. We are sure you have guessed by now that we are talking about actor Tathagata Mukherjee and his wife Debleena Dutta Mukherjee, those who known for their work such as Unicorn, Buno, and others. Recently, Unicorn has won hearts of everyone at the Telangana Film festival. Debleena Dutta Mukherjee also bagged the best actress award.love, bananivissta Love for the stray: Some people love their pets, some even care deeply for strays around us. But attacking stray animals, especially dogs, is becoming a part of leisure time. Now it is the time to make a difference, people need to take an urge to stand against animal cruelty. Tathagata Mukherjee and Debleena Dutta Mukherjee both leaped ahead to raise the voice against this matter. This popular Jodi posts frequently on the subject of animal cruelty. Tathagata shares, “I have grown up with my pets. In my childhood, I always saw that extra food was cooked in the house only for the strays. So, I never ever thought they aren’t human.  We, every day live a life of complexity. But animals lead their lives so simply. They are the same soul like ours. We must treat them with grave respect. Hurting strays is considered a punishable offense but lack of awareness indirectly encourages the occurrence of cruelty. In 2017, we organised an animal carnival to raise awareness. But I think this is not the exact way to create awareness among people. Everyone knows Debleena and I both love animals. So, we are going to different places, interacting with people and trying to make them aware of this matter”. Actress Debleena Dutta Mukherjee too added that humans have voices, but animals are voiceless. They both try to be their voice. They also want a law regarding animal cruelty which should be more firm and effective. It must set up an example to punish the people who hurt the strays.love, bananivissta Love for distressed people (God kiosk): Weather gets nippy, staying warm becomes a topmost consideration. But in Purulia, Sundarbans and many more places of West Bengal where the temperature is as low as 2 degrees Celsius in winter, there are thousands of people who go to sleep without having a single piece of winter garment to wrap themselves. They don’t have enough to eat. “Such a scenario left a daunting impression on my mind, I decided to bring about a change. Along with Chandra Shekhar Kundu (founder of a food, education and economic development), we started the initiative of collecting winter garments from door to door. We started a God Kiosk where not only garments but also toys, chairs, and many more daily household items are available. Bali in Sundarban and two God Kiosks available on Asansol”, says Tathagata Mukherjee.love, bananivissta On the other hand, an optimistic Debleena goes on to add that this initiative is only for the people who don't get any piece of cloth. We don’t choose the orphans and distressed people, because we distribute excess clothes to them. In this year we wish to set up God Kiosk all over West Bengal. Geodesy : Conversation of two street children on Christmas and New Year unveiled their own interpretation towards the World and the earthy things around them. This was the only short film which was nominated for Jio film fare award in 2017. “During shooting, we took one boy & one girl child from Jhara Basti to Park Street, they were so delighted. We found their reaction was so priceless that no one can think of”, says Debleena. love, bananivissta On the same note, Tathagata Mukherjee says, the poor-rich, bad-good difference remains in the world, doesn’t mean that anyone should hamper someone else’s happiness. Our sole purpose should be unitedly delighted and happy. On this V-day, one must understand that everyone deserves love and respect either they are your furry buddies or humans.   To know more such interesting stories, follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
