BV: Please describe the exquisite collection of Luxury living showcased in India Design 2019.
Anjaleka: In India Design (ID) 2019 we are showcasing our exclusive collection of luxurious interior stylish living. Our theme is CLASSIC WARMTH since the classic décor is trending right now and in demand.
BV: What are your thoughts on the changing interior design needs of the customers?
Anjaleka: The interior design of a home reflects the taste of the person residing. Some like to keep it simple, some like it modern and contemporary. There are some who chose bespoke classic designs. There are a variety of themes for living rooms which are the ultimate trends in luxury homes. Rich themes according to color palettes, designs of the exteriors, preferences all can be executed according to one’s specific style.
BV: Are we Indians are bending towards western culture in designing our homes? Any ideas how can we keep our own aesthetic?
Anjaleka: Indian home decor isn’t bending towards western culture anymore. Though it was there half a decade ago, not anymore. Currently, the popular décor trends are fusion or contemporary classic with all the Carving deep colors, Bohemian Crystal Chandeliers, and Gilt Mirrors.

BV: With so many luxury lifestyle brands around the world, what different you bring to the table through Angie Kripalani Design?
Anjaleka: Keeping up with the trends is crucial as they change in a blink of an eye and everyone wants what’s trendy and up to date. With Angie Kripalani Design, I try to bring a combination of both contemporary and classic to the table. The main differentiating factors are the design and use of materials, colour also plays a big role as well. Mostly we like to use bright designs with dramatic accents in my creation.
BV: What were the challenges you faced in setting up your own label and how did you overcome them?
Anjaleka: The biggest challenge when we started was that the import duty was 150 percent which leads to our products being pricey. On the other hand, the online market and pricing on Google are making it difficult to sustain the Brand and its loyal customers. We are currently trying to overcome that. Moreover, there weren’t many working women in the industry at that time, so starting up my label with such costly products on my own was not at all easy.
BV: What are your future aspirations? Any specific plans you would like to share with our readers?
Anjaleka: Being a pioneer in Interiors and imported home products for 20 years, I have been designing homes & MNC offices. Now, I want to provide high-end luxury interiors solution to the thousands of homes available for furnishing. We would like to focus on a complete Interior solution and not only on the products.
