Her command on different genres has helped her scale to the top of her game and she has been able to play memorable sets across India in some of the best clubs across more than 35 different cities including DELHI, MUMBAI, HYDERABAD, BANGALORE, KOLKATA, CHANDIGARH, JAIPUR, NAGPUR, KANPUR, PUNE, CHENNAI, BHOPAL, UDAIPUR, GUWAHATI, GOA.
BV: How has DJing changed your life and what are your highest achievements by far?
DJ Sway: I was always into music from childhood, but when I started going to the party scene then I decided I’ll be a DJ ... Djing has given me a name, I have been awarded as India’s leading female DJ, but I truly believe that the best is yet to come.
BV: Can you share some of your international experiences in performing gigs?
DJ Sway: The Experiences in all my international gigs have always been great. I have got the chance to play in more than seven countries as per now, and I have received a lot of love and support on my shows from the people.
BV: If you were not a DJ, which is the other profession, you would be a part of?
DJ Sway: If not DJing, I would definitely love to be a Radio jockey, I have even done course for it. I am born to be behind the sets.
BV: What are your upcoming projects/gigs in line? And where do you see yourself five years down the line?
DJ Sway: I am coming up with some collaboration with some singers, my remixes are in a row, will be making a smash-up for a music label for Garry Sandhu (Punjabi singer). In five years I wish I had an answer to that, but I suppose that’s a really exciting thing, I am happy to see where life takes me.
BV: Would you like to share some advice for aspiring DJs who want to make it big in the industry someday?
DJ Sway: It takes years of hard work and determination to achieve, All that glitters is not always gold. You might not receive immediate results but hard work and determination have never failed anyone, do remember this while you are struggling to make it big in this fast pace race track of life.
BV: Since DJing is a male-dominated profession, have you faced any #MeToo moment during your career? What are your thoughts about the #metoo movement going across the country?
DJ Sway: By God’s Grace no, I have never faced this issue (touch wood) 😋 , in my journey all my male fellow DJs, club owners, promoters, everyone have always been generous with me, they respect my work, and have supported me.
