Mishka’s the brainchild of Misha Chakraborty, is a Luxury Beauty Studio based in Kolkata. With a variety of nail services under one roof, Mishka’s aims to provide luxurious, pampered and revitalizing experiences to its customers. An extensive traveler, Misha Chakraborty gauged the potential and need for an experiential nail service and beauty studio in the city. In order to bridge the existing gap, Mishka’s will bring together global techniques and best of services, thereby creating a new experience for every woman who walks in – housewives, working women, celebrities and influencers. Misha Vasandani Kolkata is a promising market and the demand for luxurious nails studios have tremendously increased in the past few years. However, despite of the rising demands, the city lacked a luxury nail studio creating a hygienic experiential environment. In addition to excellent services, the brand aims to create a holistic relaxing environment where patrons will also be treated with refreshments at the outlet for complete relaxation. Apart from Mishka’s Signature Rose Manicure & Pedicure offerings they will soon be launching Brow & Lash lifting, skin services, and, Lazor services as well. The service range will be priced from Rs.800 onwards. Mishka’s is also open to hosting celebrations, such as birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers, etc. with carefully curated food and beverage menu keeping in mind the luxury experience and sophistication. "I am an extensive traveler, because of which I recognized a gap in the market and I wanted to fill it, to be honest. I knew that there is extreme potential for a service module like this and I wanted to bridge the demand supply gap. Personally, I have always had a fetish for well done nails and that is when I decided to do a certification course Le Chat Nail School, Dubai. I wanted to give women an experience of what luxury is! I feel women need a place that can truly pamper them, provide them with a relaxed environment and give them a break from their daily routines. ‘Mishka’ means the ‘Gift of Love’ in Russian. The venture is extremely close to my heart and I am personally involved in the brand building and management processes", Misha quoted. The Start:  It was only a year back that Misha decided to give the city a posh nail bar, one of its kind. She knew there was a huge gap in the market which needed to be filled and that’s how Mishka’s was conceptualised. Back from London in the year 2016, Misha missed all the nail bars where women could be pampered. Her quest for a place that she could pamper herself left her disappointed. With the lack of proper hygiene and well educated/trained technicians, she knew something needed to be done. Also, her observation made her realize that local nail bars were using grey market products which were compromising on quality standards. Inspiration: Misha Chakraborty have always been a business student, having a keen interest in Luxury brands and management. Therefore she took up Luxury Brand as a subject for my master's degree at Sunderland University. Thereafter, having a career in the tea industry as a Brand Manager for luxury teas. What so special about Mishka's? Mishka's consider themselves a place running out of passion, purely to pamper women. We provide a tea bar onboard, which includes various kinds of teas. They also serve cookies and snack portions to all our clients. We also have a first aid kit. Parking isn't a hassle at Mishka’s, they have a valet team. Mishka's offer sustainable packaging, for they believe that they need to give back to mother earth.   Challenges Faced With regards to the Nails, India is an emerging market and due to lack of highly trained technicians, we sometimes come across people who believe that having done nail extensions, ones’ natural nails growth stops/hampered. Most women and their one-time experiences have had a horrific experience and choose to never return back to getting their nails done. We have had many such cases where we have given womens’ hands a makeover post their horrific experience.   Future Plans: Alongside our Express, Spa, Ice cream and Marine - Sea Algae Based Manicures and Pedicures, we hope to introduce Microblading, Lash Lifting, Lash extensions and many more services by early next year.
