It was believed that women of the Apatani tribe were so beautiful that they have to tattoo their faces in order to save themselves from men of other tribes to steal them. They are extremely welcoming people but beware if you are planning to click an Apatani woman, as they are very sensitive about their facial tattoos.

  Shake your leg with the music   If you are a music lover than don’t miss out the Ziro music festival, one of the most popular music festival in India. This four day festival is held in the month of September and bands from across the country participate in the event. Dance on the tunes  or just lie down on the grass fields surrounded by hills enjoying the music and yummy local food.  

• Nature walk in Talley Valley Wildlife Sanctury

  Nature Walk   Talley Valley Sanctuary is famous for its diverse range of flora and fauna. This beautiful forest is home to many endangered species including clouded leopard. Go for a long trekking to enjoy the stunning view of silver fir trees, orchids and various ranges of bamboo tress of Talley Valley.  

• Worship at Meghna Cave Temple

Meghna Cave temple is at the altitude of 300 feet and the mountains, dense evergreen forest and beautiful river makes this place stunningly beautiful. In the month of February you can experience a grand festival during Maha Shivratri.

  Paradise!   For photographers the ridge Kile Pakho is like a paradise. Situated 7 km away from old Ziro this ridge would delight nature lovers with its scenic beauty. On one side there is stunning Ziro plateau and on the other side snow clad the Himalayan ranges.

  Sleep with nature   If you want to camp in the lush green grassland and enjoy the calmness of nature come to Ziro Puto. This hillock in Ziro is also famous as it is the place where independent India’s first administrative centre was established.
