The new uber cool bar and kitchen "The Canteen" by @vapour_indiranagar has opened doors for the city residents to give a new reason to celebrate food and fine liquor. One would find contemporary interiors that gel completely with their Indian delicacies.
Their in house beers would be a great choice during this summer season. Since I love my glass of whiskey, I preferred to have Jim Beam. To complement with the drinks, the peanut masala, Veg pakodas and coloured wafers were served.

Whiskey (Jim Beam)
Non-veg starters includes chili chicken, prawn masala, galoutti kebab (smooth and soft), Malai Chicken, Desi fish fry (basa fish) and Malanad Pork (my favorite) The vegetarians need not worry as they can get to taste the soya chaap, gobi manchurian and Elephant yam sheekh (Yam is a good choice other than the regular paneer and potato).

The main dishes are very simple and the chef tried to keep it Indian to the core. One can choose plain or the onion kulcha, dal makhani, paneer bhurji, mutton keema muttor, and Malabar fish curry (it was yummy as it is cooked in coconut milk). One should taste their signature Potli Biryani with dum being finished inside a flour coat. The canteen special chicken 65 biryani has a smoky flavour and is perfect for the ones who can go for some extra spices (It's spicy but tasty). If you love mutton, then you can order Irachi Pepper Mutton Biryani

The kitchen also serves king sized Gulab Jamun and Pista Phirni

The canteen is a good place to hang out with friends over a drink and some good food at reasonable prices. It made me remember my college days.
