This year, rock star Sidhu celebrates his 50th birthday at Satyajit Ray Auditorium ( ICCR ) organized by his fan circle " Love you Sidhu Da (LUSD ) by organising a concert Naam Sidhu Padabi Cactus.
The famous
singer Sidhu performed his favorite songs Keno Emon Hoy, Eso Bandhu of his own followed by songs with Cactus like Shohore Aaj Birsti, Halud Pakhi, Tabuo Thik Achhe, some of special artistes presented songs like Usha Utthup ( Kolkata, Kolkata ), Upal Sengupta, Pota ( Kalankini Radha ) Kaushik Chakraborty ( Prithibi ) and so on.

Prior to pursuing his career in music, Sidhu left his dream profession being a doctor and formed Cactus. The band offered a new genre in Bengali music scene- a Bengali rock band. Songs like Halud Pakhi is a household name now a days. Sidhu was seen trying his luck in acting, presenting quiz shows as quiz master, presenter of musical game show, singer as soloist in many Bengali films. The celebration was graced by the august presence of Usha Utthup, Lagnojita, Pota and so on. Even many underprivileged children from the group
Save The Children also joined the celebration and performed with Sidhu.

To make the occasion more special two new singles of Sidhu was released on that day- " Obak Chaal" composed, lyrics, sung by Sidhu himself under the series Aprokashito 2, while the other was " Aalor Gaan" lyrics by- Abhijit Paul, Music- Arghyakamal Chatterjee sung by Sidhu. It's Sidhu's 50th birthday then what could be the better way to celebrate the day!
